OverviewThe app provides exercises allowing young children, particularly their first language is not English, to build up common vocabulary through repetition and association with pictures. Vocabulary is a critical foundational building block in reading. In the process of playing their way through the exercises provided, children will be able to learn new words and establish a firmer foundation for developing their reading skills. Purpose of the applicationAcquiring a vocabulary that includes commonly-used words helps children to improve and develop their reading skills. Furthermore, the earlier such instruction starts, the greater an impact it will have on children’s future reading abilities. Research has shown that the reading levels of children in primary school can be predicted by the vocabulary they possess at age 3. Recognizing a large number of words will aid children in understanding printed text. Key learning skillsTo build up young children’s pools of vocabulary to include commonly used words. Key features1.
